Basic MS Excel predefined formulas list:
1. SUM()
2. AVERAGE()
3. MIN()
4. MAX()
5. COUNT()

1. SUM()

SUM() function adds all the values within selected range of cells. See the following example:

SUM() formulas in MS Excel

After pressing Enter, it adds all the marks of student and gives the result as follows:

Result of SUM() formulas

2. AVERAGE()

This function gives the average value of all the selected cells. For example:

AVERAGE() formula in MS Excel

After pressing Enter, it calculates the average marks of the student and gives the following result:

3. MIN()

MIN() function finds out the minimum value out of the selected cells. For example:

MIN() formulas in MS Excel

After pressing Enter, it gives the minimum marks of student i.e. 35 as follows:

Result of MIN() formulas

4. MAX()

MAX() function finds out the maximum value out of the selected cells. For example:

MAX() formulas in MS Excel

After pressing Enter, it gives the maximum marks of student i.e. 49 as follows:

Result of MAX() formulas

5. COUNT()

This function counts the number of selected cells that contains only numeric values. For example:

COUNT() formulas in MS Excel

Here, we have selected 6 cells out of which 5 cells contain numeric values. So it will give 5 as result.
